Bellevue luxury home plan and design
This 6,690-square-foot Bellevue luxury home faces east and sits on a 21,000-square-foot lot.
One of the key features of this Bellevue luxury home plan is apparent the moment you enter through the main door. It is the expansive hallways that serve as arterial connectors on each floor. Toward the north end, an elevator connects the three floors vertically.
Main Floor
The design of this Bellevue home strikes a satisfying equilibrium of utility and beauty throughout. For example, while the principal bedroom suite on the first floor is set aside for privacy, its counterpart on the floor above is near two smaller bedroom suites and the home’s laundry room. Two bedrooms on the lower floor complete the six-bedroom suites.

Upper Floor
We mentioned what you can use as an office, a reception room, or a library on the main floor. Another similar room is on the upper floor at the same southern end of the hallway.
Like the media room on the ground floor, it is soundproof. It is meant to be an “on-call” room for those clients who expect you to be available at all hours of the day or night. It could also be used for those little clients called babies who have more basic demands.
Speaking of hunger and thirst, the elevator takes you two floors down to the wine cellar and storage space, which we call the Costco room.
Finally, there is an 831-square-foot garage that accommodates up to four cars. Additional parking is available on-site and along the private road.
Lower Floor
This Bellevue luxury home plan includes 961 square feet of deck space.
Speaking of the lower floor, far from being a less valuable part of the home, it is designed to be the hub of activity and entertainment. There is room for virtual reality and real play, exercise, and dance. Next door, the home theater is a soundproof oasis of entertainment. Two covered patios face west.
Above the patios are three decks. One adjoins the principal bedroom mentioned above, another borders the dining room and kitchen, and one connects with the living room to the west and the south on both sides of the fireplace. The southern part of the deck is also connected to the home’s library and office space. Of the 961 square feet, only a small portion outside the dining room is not covered.
Back inside is the heart of the Bellevue home, where a comfortable living room connects to a chef-style kitchen with a breakfast corner next to the deck. Behind the western side of the kitchen is the separate dining room that easily seats ten. On the east side, the path through the kitchen leads to the pantry.
Also on the 2,500-square-foot main floor of this Bellevue home is the aforementioned office with a double door to the deck. The entry from the garage is on the other end of the hallway, next to the elevator. Another separate door connects the same room from a door next to the garage.
This utilitarian space or “mudroom” has seating to get in and out of coats and shoes and includes an additional washer, dryer, and sink. As mentioned, the main laundry room is located on the upper floor.
Finding the right location to create the perfect Bellevue luxury home plan
We looked high and low for an extraordinary location to develop the perfect Bellevue luxury home plan.
We surveyed the land on the ground and from the air. What we saw from the air was a large lot with a neglected, one-story home nestled among trees. What we envisioned on the ground was the setting for a large Bellevue custom home that would feel like a nest.
With that image in mind, the architect determined the home’s overall dimensions and its placement on the land. The exclusivity of the Bellevue neighborhood and the presence of adjacent newer homes called for an expansive home.
The design challenge of larger homes
Given their generous square footage, conventional building plans often allocate too much room to one area at the expense of another. An example is an enormous space on the main floor with an uninterrupted view from one end to the other.
Aside from being wasteful, such spaces ignore the size of our bodies with our surroundings. Living areas need to balance having a large party, spending time together, and wanting to be left alone. Here is a perfect example.
Executing a Bellevue luxury home plan takes time.
Designing this kind of home takes time. Over several months, the Bellevue luxury home plan progressed from the initial architectural concept, several design reviews, and numerous permits to the final design.
At the same time, we removed the existing 1950s structure, paying special attention to environmental issues. We cleared trees to let in more light while preserving the character of The Nest. We began to shape the landscape with the new driveway in mind.
